RWF 3 planning is underway! We’re shooting for a late fall/early winter weekend. Details coming soon. Don’t worry now, this year will be crazier than ever before!

For over three years, Wisconsin native Sean Williamson has been busy filming his debut feature “Heavy Hands.” In that time he has hopped a few couches, clanked a few dranks, released two novellas, scrapped together some pennies, shot a ton of footage, gone on a bunch of dog walks and started a new band, Hot Coffin. 

To help wrap up production of this movie, we’re throwing together a fundraiser at Mad Planet next Thursday (4/12). Do414 and Great Lakes Distillery are sponsoring the event. Foxtails and Feathers will be presenting a fashion show. Absolutely, Centipedes and Hot Coffin will be playing music and goofing off. Art will be hung. Great times will be had.

“I think in some ways Riverwest has, not a bad reputation, but people can be a little nervous about the neighborhood,” says co-organizer of the festival Sean Heiser. “Something as simple as a two-day music festival that brings in a really diverse crowd and gets people walking around the area can bring a lot of good attention to the venues and the neighborhood.” 

“Even though that lofty goal may, as of right now, remain unattained, there’s no doubt that the first Riverwest Fest was a rousing success when it came to bringing people together in the interest of celebrating Milwaukee music, the people who make it, and the places that support it. Happily, there’s no indication that things will be any different this time around, or, for that matter, the next.”
